2011 Resolutions, Volume 4

Posted by theepicraiders on January 16, 2010 at 12:27 AM
So a quick inventory has shown I have one server with three toons on it, and three servers with four toons on them. Yipes that was more than I remembered. So I'm going to start with the three toon server and stop when the post gets too long.

Luckily I only did two servers, because the first one I reviewed last year, Steamwhedle Cartel grew to be my secondary server. It now houses five toons. I've also kept my original observations about the Armory and wowhead from last year, though the new armory view will not be up to snuff until you can change the pose again.

From my original post-(As a quick side note. the new Armory viewer is freekin awesome! I really enjoyed when Wowhead did theirs because I could show off how sharp a dresser I was. I just never liked the stock faces they had. The bald human creeped me out almost as much as the ghostly green haired Night Elf. But Armory just goes, "Hey server, what does Klelland look like?" and the server says, "Like the most bada** gnome warlock you've ever seen. Nope, no goofy neon green mustache here." Also the poses are great, I set up Hujuwanmekil, who you should see in this post, so that he's doing the handstand part of his dance. I almost had him set up upside down but found out a troll does one of three dance moves at random when you /dance, and once the computer rewinds from one it randomizes it all over when you try to play it again.
Wowhead is still a much better utilty for finding upgrades and theorycrafting through gear upgrades and talent changes, but actually seeing my guild tabard is major brownie points for Armory.)

So without any more side notes, resolutions!
Realm:Steamwheedle Cartel
Kerren, Master at Arms
Quick note: This is a toon that was based off a character I made in a previous a game who was a master of every weapon. My plan was to hit the skill cap in every single weapon. This was way before the achievement, and I can share quests from the Ahn'Quiraj War to prove it!
Necessary goal: Play more often to chip away at the level cap and keep my weapon skills and Mining and Blacksmithing skills topped off.  I did, I ended the patch before 4.0 with all my skills capped.
New Goal- Hit 85. I am at 82 and a half as of now and see no issue in doing this.
Get Epic flying.
Time permitting goals: Level to 80 and get the master of arms achievement. Partial success but still major fail. I got to 80 a month or so before Cataclysm dropped, and I got an epic weapon, even ran through a full Vault of Archavon (every boss!) However, I didn't hit 80 before the 4.0 patch dropped so I couldn't get Master of Arms.
New Goal is to get raid geared.
Lofty goals: get an epic of every type of weapon I can wield. This goal remains unchanged. It's probably the best way to show that I am a master of arms now. I might even have a row of macro buttons to swap out weapons mid fight. Tie in the Garfrost/Wurmbreaker sound files for extra awesome.

Kirdra, Battle Mage
Quick note: I don't know how I can be a battlemage on WoW. I can't wear more than cloth armor. So I'm going to stack stam and resil and some up with rules to roleplaying a battle mage. Those will come in a later post. Yes they will come in a later post. I never got around to it last year, but queuing for BGs and gearing with PvP rewards is part of it. I also decided never to use a spell with a cast time. Channeled spells still work. The new talent system really made Kirdra fun, as now I have arcane barrage. I'm still doing some dungeons and quests though, as this is mostly a roleplay and spell choice change rather than an avoid a game mechanic change.
Necessary goal: Chip away at level cap, be a bit more active in the guild I was a charter member in. Set up rules on how to play. I'm going to do a larger post on the rules int he future, I almost promise. I was a bit more active, though mostly on Kerren. Still seems like good goals.
Time permitting goals: Hit lvl 80. PvP some. Hit lvl 85 or at least higher that the level 71 Kirda on the Armory. PvP some.
Lofty Goals: Join an arena team. Go back and get the Kirin Tor (Tier 8) gear.

Xaatik, RP Dranaei paladin Awesome Protadin

Quick note: I'm not really sure what to do with this guy. I rolled him because I like paladins and didn't have a Dranadin yet. (Yup Dranadin. I'm coining the phrase right here and right now.) His purpose in life is to become a Dranaprotadin. There, I made up another word. Tankingall the new instances should be a good way to see them.
Necessary goal: Level to 10 so armory can see him. Get him in my guild on this server. I feel good about this goal. Done and Done. He's level 25 and plowing through the new Ashenvale.
New Goal- level to 40 for my new elekk.
Lofty goal: level to outlands Still sounds lofty to me.

Bloodmaw, Face-eating Worgen DK
Quick Note: I have a self imposed rule that is set up based on Blizzard's original rule for Death Knights. No Dk on any server without a level 55 character. This server is the only other server I have a non-dk (I broke my rule to make a DK for a social event, and to help friends on another server) above level 55.  So I was excited to grab a DK and level him up for the guild. I saw how awesome the Worgen look as DKs, I was all about it.
Necessary Goal: Fix a fatal flaw, dual spec to add a Blood spec. It's Bloodmaw for a reason right?
Time Permitting Goal: Level to 85 and make him useful.
Lofty Goal: Eat like 10,000 faces.

Bagofholding, Cleverly Named Bank
Quick Note: To build on my rant at the top of this post, this is where the Armory random pose generator succeeds. That is an epic pose. Go ahead, click the link to the armory, I'll wait. Nice right? Anyway, I was burdened with a wealth of junk and needed more space. I also didn't have a dwarf hunter, so killed two birds with one stone.
Necessary Goal: Upsize my bag space. I'm pretty sure I don't have any 16 slot bags. More like, Bagofholding only a few things.
Lofty Goal: Emulate Grand-pappy Frostheim and be a high level hunter!

Relam: Drak'Thul
Hujuwanmekil, Troll Assassin
Quick note: While I have a lot of other rouges, none of them are Horde. I do fear really playing this toon, because someone will report me for having a cool name. So far so good. I think I changed his hair cut, too. Bald trolls are just weird.
Necessary goals: keep a low profile while leveling. Looks good, but this is a bit of an ongoing task.
Lofty goals: Ding 80 without having to change my name. Looking good so far, all one level I've done.

Lightshorror, Ret paladin
Quick note: I made this pally to be the opposite of Lightshonor. A perversion of her morals and someone someone who didn't need to heal or tank. Yet here she is tanking. I think she just won't heal. This server is basically a wasteland for me though. Not sure what I'll be able to do.
Necessary goals: Level to outlands to see Horde classic content. I never left the Ghostlands, wish I had gotten the tabard and polearm for Belf paladins though. Oh well. I at least got the early charger.
New Goal- clear out Ghostlands quests from the questlog.
Time permitting goals: hit level 80. Or 85.
Lofty goals: DPS a raid. Still sounds good to me. Will probably tank up to the cap then switch for ease of leveling.

Zharcon, The Mad
Quick note: This is my undead frost mage. I named him as the archon of Zhar the Mad from Diablo. This is the guy I'll see all the cool new Forsaken lore through. At least through Tirisfal Glades.
Necessary goal: Be frosty and magey. That wasn't hard was it? *Rolls up sleeves*
New Goal- Clear up to Silverpine Forrest.

Time permitting goal; get a permafrost pet. All I had to do was wait for the 4.0 changes to come out and Whamo! full time elemental at lvl 10.
New Goal-Get a skeleton horse as an additional pet/mount.
Lofty goal: Bring out the 1337 frost dps. (I know no one spells it like that anymore, cut me some slack jack, I'm kicking it old-skool.) I think I'll actually try to get my DPS numbers to 1337.

Blaezar. Warlock Supreme
Quick note: I actually rolled this charatcer due to a terrible mispelling on a dry cleaning advertisement. Instead of a stylish jacket it sounded like an evil warlock from the Shadow Council.
Necessary goal: Start the "Cult of Blaezar' Guild. Still on my list.
Time permitting goal:????? !!!!!!
Lofty goal: Profit. Profit.

Thank you for actually reading to this point, I know I won't read this whole post in one sitting again until next year.
